Gettin' Ready for Halloween.......

Being our first Halloween in Fort McMurray, we had to feel out the neighborhood, to see how much decorating would be taking place. Turns out that most of our block had things up, so we had to get at it. A quick trip to the Dollar Store and below are the results. The highlight was one little girl telling us "we had a VERY SPOOKY porch." Thanks....here's an extra candy.....

We had picked up our pumpkins a while back, and enlisted Kate's help to get them marked and cut up. She seemed happier about the drawing on them than having to get out of the way so Dad could hack them up. Either way, they turned out fairly well. As you may have noticed, Lauren is quite a supervisor......I think she get that from her Mom, but she just hung out and watched over the operation.

The Ndegwa clan popped by for a quick pre Trick or Treating visit, so we had to get a pic of everyone together on the couch before the costumes went on. Daniel was happy, as his Mom just informed him that if he sat by Abby, he would get a treat. This led to Kate wanting a treat, then Daniel wanting another treat, then Kate wanting another treat......and so on, and so on. Lauren was pretty smug in her "My 1st Halloween" shirt, that Granny had bought Kate, although that look would soon change when the infamous "Angry Turtle" costume was pulled out.
