Palm Springs Baby!!!

For the second year in a row, we've done a family trip to Palm Springs thru our timeshare, and had an amazing time. This year was that much better, with Kate really starting to LOVE the pool. In fact, her and I were typically the first ones to the pool every day. At the start, it was her holding onto me tightly, but eventually got to the point where she would jump into the pool on her own, and dunk in the process (known to her as "Daddy....let's go jump and dunk"). Needless to say, it is a HUGE improvement over last year, where she would not go near the pool, and only sit in the hot tub. Her and Lauren also spent countless hours playing on the steps in the pool......a few toys and they were good for hours!

We had my Dad and his girlfriend Shiela, as well as Andrea's Dad and Lynne join us on the trip, and needless to say, having the extra hands was much appreciated. I think the girls loved their Grandparent time, and we loved our "no kids" time.

The weather was excellent - typically between +25 and +28 every day.....with no clouds to be seen. Although the days were a bit shorter (its usually dark by 5pm), there was more than enough time for the pool, some shopping, and some great meals. We BBQ'd most nights, and the wine was extremely cheap (and good)!

Lauren did very well with the pool time also, with a fair bit of splashing, and no fussing, she just hung out as usual. There were a couple instances where she "tipped over" while sitting on the steps, and fully dunked herself, but she never even sputtered....just continued playing with her toys.

The boys even got in a couple rounds of golf....first one at Silver Rock, a course they host the Bob Hope Classic at. It quickly showed us why even the pros struggle, but we held our own. Our second round was at Terra Lago, which has hosted numerous Skins games.....again, a very tough track with a tad too much sand for Russ's liking! Either way, we had some great days on the course, with Russ dominating us. Next year I'll be making him play from the tips!!
