Laurens Baptism

On the weekend of the 29th, we packed up the van and headed to Waskatenau for the weekend, to Baptise Lauren. We held the ceremony at Dad's house, with our old Minister, Father Palamarchuk doing the honors. Her Godparents were my sister Brenda, and long time friend Terry - both of whom have been big parts of our lives for many, many years. For the most part, Lauren was happy with the event, but her being tired eventually caught up to us, and she let us know she was done.
During the ceremony, Terry was relatively covered with the Holy Water - so there may be hope for him yet! Andrea had concerns about the amount of hair that was cut off (by Ukranian Orthodox tradition, the hair is cut off and burnt - to signify cleansing) but it is not noticeable. All in all, a very special ceremony that went very well with some family and close friends sharing the day with us.
