A Week of Firsts...some good, some bad....

Last week, Lauren started standing up on her own....she would motor over to whatever she could get her hands on, and quickly prop herself into the standing position. This week, she has added the ability to sit up on her own, AND she got her first tooth. The sitting up was good, but the tooth was quite a surprise. With Kate, it seemed that we'd see the tooth coming for days, until it finally made it's way thru. With Lauren, there was no noise, no fussing, nothing. For whatever reason, Andrea had her finger in Lauren's mouth, and "stumbled" upon a fully exposed bottom tooth. The only sign, looking back over the past week, was one or two 2am episodes, but that was about it. So, she's made it thru her first tooth without Tylenol......definitely tough like her Dad! Her final "first" was the biggest of all.....seems as though she is quite good at crafting with stickers! Andrea went to change a rather smelly diaper, and she found a sticker (Boots - out of Kate's Dora collection) had made it's way into her mouth, thru Lauren's system, and out into the diaper.

This week also marked the first time that Kate has tried to feed Lauren - a sour gummy bear was the choice for her first feeding attempt. Lauren has been slowly taking on more foods, like small pieces of bread, Cheerio's, etc, but the gummy bear was the first big thing she took on. And as I found out last night when she ate a small piece of Kleenex, prying her mouth open is no small task. Andrea finally wrestled her down and wedged her mouth open to extract the sour gummy bear, which she seemed to quite enjoy.
