Christmas Time in FMM

It's that time of year again......with the snow falling and the temperature dropping (dropping DRASTICALLY lately) that tells us it's time to dig out the decorations. We put up our tree this past weekend, and Kate was quite excited to help. The funniest part was that she could not get any of her decorations to stay on the tree....every single one fell to the ground, but she just kept at it. She is definitely starting to get what Christmas is about, and her excitement is very entertaining. The decoration below caused her some grief....as she is a big Oilers fan, and was shocked to see this terrible, Flames Beaver in our decorations. Oh well.....maybe soon it will "go missing".

And would it be Christmas without baking? I think not....and Kate and Andrea were in the full swing of things with some cookie making. Andrea found Merry's sugar cookie recipe and was able to get some good results! Below are a few pics of Kate helping out. And for the safety conscious people out there, Kate was just posing with the mixmaster.......not operating it. Truth be known, I don't know that I even trust Andrea operating it!

.....and then came the Christmas crafts, which is a sure fire way to calm down any 2 year old that has been cooped up in the house for over a week due to the weather (and a stomach flu....I'd like to extend a "thanks" to the good people at the Bissel Steam Cleaner company....that little unit worked overtime to keep the rug/couch/pillows clean).

Andrea loaded up the van today and hauled the girls to the mall for a visit with Santa. They arrived around 10:30am, to work around napping schedules, but apparently Santa was busy with the elves, and wasn't able to arrive until 1pm. When they got their turn, both girls were happy to be with Santa, although Kate said "I just stand beside Santa Mommy". On a side note, if you zoom into the picture, you will notice that Santa is wearing an Oilers watch.....I LOVE this town!!!

And we thought we'd close the post with this picture of Lauren......who refuses to smile for the camera. So, we figured we'd post a goofy picture showing off her new sweater.

  1. Isn't Christmas so much more fun now that they "get" it a bit more? I love the last picture of Lauren. Priceless!
