She's 1......

While yesterday was Lauren's "official" first birthday, today was the day we celebrated. We had a few friends over for some of the ever famous "Coz-burgers", a few beverages, and of course, some cake. Kate was quite excited about the whole situation - there was a small pile of presents in the corner, which Lauren would surely need some help with, and there was talk of a "party". Kate definitely got the social gene, and LOVES having friends over to play, so when her friends Daniel and Katherine arrived, it was game on! The three of them ran around the house, each with a helium balloon in tow, singing (ie. screaming) "It's a party.....it's a party". All in all, there we no incidents/injuries, which is pretty much a success when mixing three kids at/around the 3 year old mark.

All in all, a very successful birthday party. The day started with the family going skating, and ended with some great friends and some laughs. Very hard to believe one year has already gone by.......we think it is likely due to the vast changes that have come over our lives in the past year, on top of Lauren's arrival (ie. total family relocation, etc). Whatever it is due to, the past year has absolutely flown by. Lauren is now eating "real food", walks around tables, and natters a fair bit (her BEST noise is when she points at something and says a deep "whuuh", clearly meaning "I want that"). Before we know it, she will be walking, talking, and taking on the world! I'll close with yet another ever famous "cheeseball" shot - Andrea was just able to get her hair into some sort of upwards "Pebbles Flintstone" pony tail.

Yay me.......
