Headin' South

This past week, we made our annual "trek" South - for the third year now, we've gone to our timeshare in Palm Springs. However, to make it a bit longer, we added three days on the front end, and drove to Disneyland with the girls. I'm still struggling to determine exactly which "girl" was the most excited, but everyone had a great time. We arrived the first day of their Christmas celebration, so seeing the park decked out in Xmas was definitely a highlight. To take it even further over the top, the "It's a Small World" ride was absolutely amazing, showing Christmas from around the world. We got our fill of rides, and though the girls were a tad scared of the characters (the ONLY ones Kate would go near were Minnie and Mickey, and a picture with Woody and Jessie on Andrea's shoulders), it was a great three days.

Two iPods, two girls.....all good!

When in Hollywood....

Then it was back to Palm Springs (about a 1.5 hour drive in the Lincoln Town Car Rental!!) for 7 days in the sun. We got into our units about the same time the rest of the crew arrived - Andrea's Dad and Lynne, my Dad and Shiela, and the Fox and Tillie....definitely a good size clan! The time here was spent mainly at the pool, which everyone really enjoyed. We even had the Fox into the pool for the first time in 13 years! After his entry, he was in there every day, and really enjoyed the heat and sun. We squeezed in a couple rounds of golf, a bit of shopping, and an amazing dinner out for just Andrea and I at one of our favorite Palm Springs Italian restaurants. It was GREAT to have the extra hands on the trip...and I think the Grandparents (ie. the Senior Contingent) had a great week in the sun.
