Kate's 3!!!!

Where do three years go? I guess one could say three houses, two job positions, a second daughter, and a whole bunch of other crazy stuff thrown in for good measure! Hard to believe that three years ago we became parents...we both very vividly recall bringing Kate home from the hospital....walking in the front door of the house thinking "now what"? But it has been an absolutely amazing ride, with some bumps along the way to keep us honest!

Per Kate's request, we headed out to BP's for her Birthday Dinner. We didn't do any cake, but she did get her standard chocolate mini pizza for dessert, which I put some candles on when we got home. The real party will be this upcoming Saturday, where the Dora Cake will make an appearance! There were a good number of gifts for her to open upon returning home, a bit of playtime, then it was off to bed.

Speaking of bed....for MONTHS now, we have been telling Kate that when she's 3, she has to give up her suckies (she only has them at nap/bed time), and the Suckie Fairy would bring her a bouncy castle. She woke up this morning to Andrea telling her she was now 3, and happy birthday! Her reply was "thanks Mom....now I put my suckies in the mailbox"? We have been thru the "suckies in the mailbox" routine before, but all prior attempts have resulted in a good bit of trauma, and the return of said suckies. Today, when we mentioned the suckies, she would hang her head but was pretty good about it all. Bedtime resulted in a couple extra books, me laying with her for about 10 minutes, then she fell asleep well. That was 3 hours ago, and so far, so good.....she hasn't so much as moved. And the bouncy castle that has been hidden in the garage for months now has been relocated to the front entrance of the house.....with a nice note from the Suckie Fairy telling her "thanks for your suckies....I have now taken them to a nice baby in the Ukraine". We'll see how this all plays out.
Cheers Daddy!!

"You open that one Sister"
Yeah.....flip flops!!!!
The mini chocolate pizza birthday cake...nice!!

  1. Happy Birthday, Kate! I am so excited that she gave her suckies to the suckie fairy and that it hasn't caused too much trauma!
